Building a Firm

In 2020, Molly Bordonaro, Brent Gaulke, and Kelly Saito bought out their retired partners, rebranded to The Green Cities Company, and ushered in a new chapter committed to building advanced strategies and processes.
Green Cities’ predecessor firm was Gerding Edlen, founded in 1996 as a development company focused on sustainability in residential and office projects. Beginning in 2009, the firm evolved under the leadership of Molly, Kelly, and Brent into an SEC-registered investment advisor focused on multifamily, office, and mixed-use investments and development.
Since 2020, the three have strategically invested in talent, proprietary AI analytical modeling, acquisitions underwriting processes, risk management, and asset-level operations, with the goal of elevating performance and returns.
Today, the firm is anchored in a culture of innovation, rigorous data-driven decision-making, and a commitment to operational excellence, leveraging both past strengths and lessons learned to build a company for the future.
